October Favorites | 2015

Hey girls, I’ve been resting at home all week due to getting my wisdom teeth and I’m so tempted to be doing all this online shopping for makeup but I’m gonna try to hold it back and make a few blog posts ;). But first it’s time for my October Favorites! Time has flown by!!

Maybelline Superstay Better Skin Concealer, I LOVE this concealer! I have it in the shade Ivory. The whole concept behind it is that it has salacylic acid in it, which helps fight breakouts. I’m all for anything that is fighting some black heads, and I love the coverage and finish of it! I’ve heard lots of people compare this to the NARS concealer. Definetly try it out! Only bad thing I’ve noticed is when you apply around the eyes it does get a little tingly and sensitive but nothing I can’t handle!

Wet n Wild Coloricon bronzer with SPF 15

This bronzer is great for warming up the skin! Mine is in the shade Ticket to Brazil. I don’t use this to contour, lately I’ve mostly been into just warming up the skin and I’m constantly reaching for this. I’m very fair these months and this is light enough to look natural and has a gorgeous sheen to it as well.

Benefit’s Bella Bamba Blush, I got this blushe ages ago and just recently rediscovered it and can’t put it down. It looks SO natural on me. It’s an extremely universal color and is the perfect natural pink flush to your cheeks. Although I don’t own it, I feel like this is comparable to the famous NARS orgasm blush.

•The Balm Mary-Loumanizer, I ordered this off hautelook and it was delivered in September. This has completely taken over 1st place from Becca’s Opal. They’re extremely similar but the Balm’s is more of a sheen as opposed to glitters and sparkles in Opal. It looks so natural and beautiful and I would highly reccomend this if you are trying to decide between this and Opal.

Morphe Angled Contour Brush, I got this brush in a set I mentioned in a previous online haul post. I couldn’t find any specific names for it so if anyone happens to know please leave it in the comments! I use this to apply my bronzer and it works beautifully. It picks up just the right amount of product and blends amazingly. Its great quality and is SOO soft! I will most likely be buying more brushes from Morphe sometime soon!

•Elf Fan Brush, this elf brush was $3 and well worth it! I was never a fan of these types of brushes but wanted to give one a try so I went with my best option, and love it! It’s fool proof for applying highlighter, it puts it right where it needs to go and doesn’t pick up too much product. If you want to try out a fan brush, try this one! It’s only 3 dollars so if you don’t like it, you won’t feel too guilty ;).

MAC Matte Lipstick in D For Danger, a few weeks ago my boyfriend let me pick out a lipstick to buy at MAC and this one was jumping out at me. This is my perfect Fall/Winter wearable red. I would describe it as a deep raspberry red. It’s so flattering and it lasts forever.

MAC Whirl Lip Pencil and Maybelline creamy matte lipstick in Daringly Nude, this has been my favorite nude lip combo for October. I just recently bought Whirl and am really enjoying it! I’ve had daringly nude for ever and never wore it because it washed me out to much, but this combination is perfect for me. The swatch is Whirl by itself, Daringly nude by itself, then both blended together.

Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette, I have a repeat from last month! I can’t get enough of this lately. For fall I’ve really been into neutral looks and this is the perfect palette for it. It’s a great palette for beginners too! I’ve also been working a lot and haven’t had much time to play around with my other palettes and eyeshadows, but hopefully I will in November!

CoverGirl SuperSizer Mascara, this mascara is a game changer. I have NEVER been a fan of CoverGirl hence why it took me so long to buy this mascara but I am SO happy I did! Everything i want from a mascara, this does; curl, lengthen and volume (and cheap!). I highly reccomend this!

Christmas Makeup Wishlist | 2015

Christmas Makeup Wishlist | 2015

Hey girls! I created this blog in hopes to be posting a lot more than I have been lately, but I’ve worked so much and been sick and so busy! Hopefully I’ll be stepping my game up soon ;-). This past year is when my love for beauty really grew! I would say 90% of the makeup I own now I purchased in 2015, so here’s what I’m going to ask for the final bang of 2015!

Urban Decay Naked Palette- original

I feel like any makeup lover has to have this in their collection. I have Naked 2 and 3, and not a big fan of 2 but I love 3! Naked 2 is just a little too cool toned for me, and I’m not sure why I purchased it because I never wear colors like it but it still is beautiful and the shadows are amazing! The original Naked Pallete is much more warm and bronze which is perfect for my blue eyes!

MAC Mineralized Skinfinish in Soft and Gentle

This is another staple in what seems to be everyones makeup collection. The only reason I haven’t purchased this yet is because of the price. I told myself I’d splurge on only one highlighter and I got Beccas Opal. I am dying to try this and crossing my fingers I get it!

TooFaced Chocolate Bar Palette

I own the Semi Sweet Chocolate bar and I love it, and am dying to try the original. It took me nearly 10 minutes to decide which one I wanted to buy at Sephora and ever since I’ve fallen in love with my semi-sweet bar I’ve wanted to try the original! From what I’ve seen its just as beautiful.

Kay Von D Shade + Light Contour Pallete

Contouring is never something I’ve really been into, but always wanted to give one of these palettes a try so I figured I’ll try the best! I’ve heard nothing but amazing things about this Pallete and hope I can try it soon!

These are the four main things I’ll be asking for! Besides these products, beauty wise, I’ll provably ask for a couple Mac Lipsticks as well!

Xoxo

Makeup Tag

My First real post! Hope you enjoy 🙂

1.) Do you remember your first makeup item?

I believe it was a CoverGirl concealer my mom showed me that amazed me by covering up my puberty zits!

2.) Describe your perfect mascara. Have you found one that fits your specifications?

My perfect mascara is one that gives me insane length, and makes them full and bushy. My obsession is Loreal Voluminous Miss Manga, I love how long it makes my lashes and makes them look so full with no effort or even curling my lashes before!

3.) What kind of coverage do you prefer from foundations?

Light-medium, which is why I almost never wear foundation, rather conceal and a powder.

4.) Favorite high-end brand?

Tie between Urban Decay and Kat Von D!

5.) What cosmetic brand have you always wanted to try but still haven’t?

Chanel

6.) Favorite drugstore brand?

Maybelline! I always seem to like whatever I buy from them

7.) Do you wear fake eyelashes?

No. I ironically purchased my first pair of false lashes today! Ive wanted to try them out for a while now.

8.) Is there any kind of makeup you can’t leave the house without?

If I dont have makeup on then I only worry about bringing my chapstick with me, if I do have makeup on though, I have to bring whatever lipstick I am wearing or a similar backup.

9.) What is your most cherished beauty product?

Definitely mascara, without it Id be lost.

10.) How often do you shop for makeup? Do you like to pick up one item at a time here and there or get lots of goodies at once?

I try so hard to hold back from shopping for makeup, but I always break when Im in drugstores, or get am email about a sale! I tend to get lots of goodies at once, its hard to narrow things down to one!

11.) Do you have a “beauty budget” or spend freely?

I keep a reminder in my phone to stop buying so much makeup, (which hasnt helped too much), but other than that I limit myself to around 100 a week for everything i need; food, transportation, makeup!

12.) Do you utilize coupons, reward cards and sales when you shop for cosmetics?

Of course! Why wouldnt you?!

13.) What type of products do you purchase the most?

Drugstore lipsticks, and blush! Im addicted.

14.) Is there any brand you absolutely can’t stand?

If I had to pick one I guess it would be CoverGirl. I never look at their displays or seem to have any interest.

15.) Do you avoid certain ingredients in cosmetics like parabens or sulfates?

No. I

16.) Do you have a favorite place to shop for makeup?

Ulta! I have both drugstore and highend all in one place, i love it.

Do you like trying new skin care products or of you keep a certain routine?

Ive kept the same routine for a while now but recently signed up for Ipsy and Birchbox and have tried out a few new things!

18.) Favorite bath and body brand?

Hard to narrow it down. My favorite lotion is from Hempz, favorite body wash is Dove!

19.) If you could only buy from one brand, which brand would you choose?

MAC

20.) What brand do you think has the best packaging?

Stila

21.) Which celebrity always has great makeup?

J.Lo or the Kardashian girls!

22.) Do you belong to any makeup communities?

No 😦

23.) Favorite beauty gurus?

Kathleen Lights, Laura Lee, Jaclyn Hill, Casey Holmes, Lauren Curtis, I have so many!

24.) Do you like multifunctional products like lip and cheek stains?

No

25.) Are you clumsy in putting on makeup?

Sometimes, I try my best not to be!

26.) Do you use makeup base/primer for the eyes?

I usually just use my concealer on my lids to cover veins, but if I know Im going to have a long night, or special occasion I will use a primer/base

27.) How many hair products do you use on a typical day?

1; moroccan oil

28.) What do you apply first, concealer or foundation?

Foundation

29.) Do you ever consider taking makeup classes?

Yes I want to but dont have much time!

30.) What do you love about makeup?

I love that its an escape for 20 minutes from everything in the world, and it makes me feel confident in myself!

About Me

Hello!

My name is Lauren. I am 17 years young living in Boston. My whole life I was a tomboy; hated shopping, makeup, doing my hair, and of course I loved sports. While my love for sports is still here, I now am in love with all things beauty! After suffering the loss of my older sister in September of 2013, dropping out of school, and becoming severely depressed, I consoled in makeup and beauty to distract me from my home issues. This along with many other things helped me get back on my feet and feeling myself again. Over time I have accumulated quite the makeup collection and thought I should make  some more use of it! I hope you enjoy my blog if you happen to come across it!

Lauren 🙂
